DAY 11 OF 30
TIGHT BODY 30 DAY CHALLENGE!

TRANSFATS

Transfat, who needs it? No one! In many other countries transfats are banned. Here in the U.S. they're used readily. Statistics say transfats are the result of 11,000-30,000 deaths per year, here in the U.S. alone.

THE PROBLEM WITH TRANSFAT

Transfat lowers good cholesterol, and raises bad cholesterol. It’s designed to keep ‘food’ stuffs on shelf's for a mighty long time. When you consume it, the transfat will work its wonders on your arteries much the same way, with no intention on leaving. Rather, it builds up. Transfat is even worse than saturated fat, yet all we tend to hear about is saturated fat. Beware.


HERE’S THE GOOD NEWS!

The good news? You can steer clear of them if you're conscious of them. Look for the words ‘Hydrogenated Fat’. They're typically in all manmade food/concoctions. Be sure to look at EVERY label to see if it contains transfat. If it says 'Partially Hydrogenated’, still avoid it like the plague, it’s not ‘partially’ better, it’s just as damaging. Your arteries will thank you.

THE TRUTH ABOUT ‘TRANSFAT FREE’

A ‘food’ is considered transfat free (and can state so on its label), if it contains 0.5 grams of transfat, or less. What you need to realize is, if you eat more than a typical serving, or eat one serving from a variety of these ‘freebies’, all those little guys add up, and you’re getting transfat. Do not be mislead.

EATING OUT

Many restaurants, and especially fast food joints, use hydrogenated oils. Your best bet is to order ‘Fresh’ food, nothing fried, or greasy.  Look for salads, order sides of fresh vegetables, or steamed vegetables, minus the sauce or butter.

DAY 11 MISSION: SEEK OUT AND DESTROY TRANSFAT


Today, I encourage you to go through your kitchen: boxed goods, canned goods, bottled goods, drinks, condiments, ANYTHING that is in packaging, and contains a label. Learn to look at both the Nutrition Label, and under Ingredients, to be sure of what you’re consuming. It may seem harmless, but as you can see from statistics, it’s anything but.

BOTTOM LINE

Man’s version of ‘food’ will never equate with real food which comes from Mother Earth. Stick to Mother Earth, and leave the confusion to the ‘food experts’.
